Dear Grazie Media,
Words matter, but so do actions. I want to take a minute and thank you for donating airtime to GLSEN and the Ad Council in support of the “Think Before You Speak” PSAs being aired in front of the Lucas Oil Stadium at Super Bowl XLVI.
ABC News recently referred to “Think Before You Speak” as a “sassy” campaign featuring Hilary Duff, Wanda Sykes and the NBA’s Grant Hill and Jared Dudley.
But I know you didn’t donate this valuable airtime because of celebrities. You did so because you care about making sure LGBT students are safe. Nearly 9 out of 10 LGBT students experience harassment in school.
Because of your support, GLSEN and the Ad Council are able to raise awareness about anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment among the 150,000+ fans that will be at the Super Bowl.
Thank you for standing with people like me who care deeply about making sure all teens are safe in school.
